Continued From Return to the Barrow

Summary

Engelhart enters the barrow and begins inspecting his former comrades' remains. A single beetle is visible, but does not seem immediately hostile.

The DM: As Engelhart steps off the ladder, which we will say leads to hex 0708, here is what he sees:

The Barrow

Two of the pits that were glowing seem to be gone. There is too much shadow to see if the pits are there, but they are certainly not glowing if they are. There is one beetle stopped near the far wall. It is glowing, like they all have. It seems to be testing the air; it is making no special sign that it is aware of Engelhart.

There are three skeletons in the room, picked clean.

Engelhart will have to move away from the bottom of the ladder before anyone else can descend; I believe Pandred meant to come next.

Engelhart, can you confirm or not if you cast bless on the party before descending?

Engelhart: I did cast Bless, about a half-hour back. Ought to keep afloat for all of our needs here today.

Engelhart eyes the beetle warily, motions upwards for the need for quietness and, step-by-measured-step, starting with Rowan's corpse, goes to see the remains of his fallen comrades.

Engelhart: (By this I mean that I move 0509, to check on that corpse first, while surveying the barrow floor for signs of burrows and any odd glow).

Engelhart: For reference:

CLO: 1.50
Carrying: ~40 lbs. (5AP)
AC 7 (Leather + Shield)

Pandred: Pandred still intends to go next.

The DM: Engelhart, the only "burrows" ~ think you mean pits ~ are those glowing across the room; the only glow comes from those and the lone beetle.

Pandred, I'm going to make up a new map and put you in the room.

The DM: The next post is up.
